restricting access to forum

The documentation says 'Security trimming so users without access to a forum/category won't see it', but I can't see how to restrict access to a forum.

How do I make it so that only a specific Windows group can read and/or contribute to a Forum?

Sorry - just trying to have the answer ready for when I get asked if it can do this.

I need to get some admin documentation written but in a nutshell:

1. Create the new forum
2. Create a group for your users
3. Put the users into that group (they need to be members of the forum already)
4. Assign that group to the reader/contributor/whatever rights on the forum and remove rights from any other groups

Only users in that forum group will have whatever access you provide to the forum.

Sorry, but you can only add users to groups in the forum web part, not domain groups (at least in this version).
