I sent this email to Bil a few weeks back, with no reply so far. Can anyone else help?

Could you confirm or deny that this should work in a Sharepoint 2007 solution
If the answer above is yes it should could you answer the following questions.
Does the msi installer work for this solution, because both the 1.1 msi and 1.2 msi fail for me and just creates a C:\Program Files\WPPackager directory with the cab files in

I have tried the following and still get the webpart is not safe when trying to add. The event log also shows 4 times( I guess for the 4 safe controls in web.config)

Error: Failure in loading assembly: BilSimser.SharePoint.WebParts.Forums, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e516dadc23877c32

I have installed all 3 of your dlls into the GAC (the core.dll I had to get from the v1 zip file because it was not included in 1.1. or 1.2) therefore trying to bypass the next step below

For sharepoint 2007 there is no bin folder, from my reading I believe this has been replaced with the appbin folder in the individual virtual directories for the sharepoint websites

For the site I am trying to get working this is

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\6000\appbin

Do I also need to do this for the sharepoint administrator site as well e.g

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\46dfe4f0-8b6e-4c69-8018-dcee55289951\appbin

I have set the trust in web.config for the sharepoint sites to be “Full” in case the next step was faulty. For Sharepoint 2007 I take it the www_customtrust.config is located here

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\CONFIG, is this correct.

The publickeyblob is all on 1 line.

Sorry if this email is a bit garbled, any help would be gratefully received. Desperately trying to prove that sharepoint is the way forward for us, but the default forums as so terrible it is a show stopper.

Thanks for you hard work and time.

Yours in anticipation

The current and previous versions do not work correctly on 2007. The next release will address this.
