Is the still frame at home page a screen shot of what you can do with SharePoint Forums?

The homepage has only a still image with a discussion forum look that is similar to the forums on net, but the Discussions here is nothing like that in the home page. Is the the picture in the homepage an example of what this web part can create?

The image on the home page is the forums (or was at that version). The current version can be configured to look that way, it's just content (categories and some sample topics).
